Why Tokens Was Created
The author, Aaron Kelsall, developed the idea for tokens during his own personal experience with grief.
After losing his mother, he began to take comfort in what may have been small coincidences or something more magical. In those moments, he developed a way to explain why sometimes he’d feel he hadn’t noticed something in a while. Cue Tokens.
Over time, as he shared his theory with friends and family, the idea began to grow into something that he could see helping others too.
Tokens from Heaven, as we now know it, was created as a gentle way to think about remembrance – an idea that could offer comfort to families and help us all, especially children, approach loss with imagination rather than pain.
Meet The Main Characters
Ronnie Roo
After having a perfect start in life with his happy family, Ronnie’s world turns upside down when Momma Roo goes to heaven and he begins his grief journey.
Pappa Roo
Pappa Roo is the rock of the family. Despite grieving the loss of his wife, he stays incredibly strong for Ronnie and shares his magical story of tokens to help him.
Momma Roo
Momma Roo loves her family and continues to show it despite having to go to heaven. She always spends her tokens to show little signs of love from above.
